Founded in 2012 in Kagoshima, Susumuya is rooted in a long lineage of tea expertise. Its founder, Kotaro Shinbara, comes from a family of tea wholesalers spanning generations over a 100 years. This matcha adheres to the Susumuya SGJT standards, designed to stabilise and balance key elements of the tea- such as aroma, umami, and sweetness within the Kagoshima Prefecture. Products labelled with this designation guarantee that the leaves are sourced exclusively from trusted local farms.
